Is one of the hottest showbiz couples breaking up? There are increasing rumours of a supposed crisis between singer Taylor Swift and American football star Travis Kelce. Confidential documents from a PR agency have surfaced online.

Being a star has its perks: fame, wealth, exclusive parties, luxury cars (or yachts), exotic holidays... However, popularity also has its price – the loss of at least part of one's privacy.

We can only imagine how exhausting it must be to experience the breakup of a relationship while also having to think about issuing the appropriate media statement. The entire internet is buzzing that this is precisely what has happened to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce—without a doubt one of the most popular celebrity couples in the USA.

The love between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce seemed to be flourishing until now. The singer has often been criticised for taking short flights on a private jet to visit her boyfriend. She was often seen at his games, and Travis in turn supported her during her "The Eras Tour" concerts. People wearing football jerseys with Kelce's number often appeared at the singer's shows—a sign of fan approval that is by no means guaranteed in a relationship.

On 3 September, fragments of a document containing "Taylor and Travis's breakup strategy" surfaced online. Fans quickly deemed it authentic – among other reasons, because the strategy content was written on paper with the letterhead of Full Scope Public Relations, the agency representing the football player. The breakup announcement was set for 28 September, and the documents also contained the stars' statements.

"Travis and Taylor have decided to part ways. They both value and respect each other and hope for their privacy to be respected during this time. They are focused on their careers and personal development. They remain friends and wish each other the best"—reads the rather dry statement.

The reaction from Travis Kelce's PR team didn't take long. "We have engaged our legal team to initiate proceedings against the individuals or entities responsible for the unauthorised and harmful falsification of documents"—a representative for the athlete told the "Daily Mail" website. Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce themselves have not commented on the matter. We wish the couple a peaceful resolution to this media crisis.
