In Kyiv, there was a horrific missile attack on the Ochmatdyt Children's Hospital. Russia struck the facility, destroying the oncology and ICU wards. Dozens of people were injured, and ten died under the hospital's rubble, including many children. One of the victims was a 30-year-old doctor from Lviv.

Russia once again attacked civilian infrastructure in Ukraine. After the missile attack on the children's hospital in Kyiv, ten people died, and up to 35 were injured. The incident occurred on Monday when a Kh-101 missile hit the hospital building, causing severe damage and destruction.

According to the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU), two staff members were killed, and 16, including seven children, were seriously injured. Four people, including three children, were rescued from the rubble. Unfortunately, the damage toll quickly turned tragic.

The TV station "Belsat" reports that one of the fatal victims was a young doctor, Svitlana Lukianchuk, from Lviv. In the Kyiv hospital, she worked as a pediatric nephrologist. The city's mayor announced her death. Her aunt raised Svitlana because she lost her parents at a young age. She will be buried next to them in the Holosivskyi cemetery.

Russia's brutal attack on Ukraine's children's hospital

According to the portal i.pl, after Russia attacked the hospital in the Ukrainian capital, the most affected departments were the paediatric oncology and the intensive care unit.

One of the heartbreaking photographs shows children with cancer who survived the shelling and were brought outside. Frightened, they sat under the remaining walls, receiving IV drips.

Okhmatdyt has been saving and restoring the health of thousands of children. Now that the hospital has been damaged by a Russian strike, there are people under the rubble, and the exact number of casualties is still unknown. Right now, everyone is helping to clear the rubble – doctors and ordinary people. Russia cannot claim ignorance of where its missiles are flying and must be held fully accountable for all its crimes. Against people, against children, against humanity in general. It is very important that the world does not remain silent about this now, and that everyone sees what Russia is and what it is doing. - wrote the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, on platform X.

International humanitarian organisations are calling for an immediate cessation of hostilities to allow medical aid and the evacuation of civilians from affected areas.
