On 12 August, Cara Delevingne turned 32 years old. She is considered one of the most interesting and talented models of her generation. Privately, she has been through a lot. She had to, among other things, hide her orientation from her family. 'It doesn’t matter to me whether it's she, he, or they,' she says openly today.

Cara Delevingne was born on 12 August 1992 in London. She comes from an aristocratic family. Her godmother is the well-known actress Joan Collins. She has been regarded as one of the most intriguing models for years. She has collaborated with brands such as Burberry, Fendi, Dolce & Gabbana, Moschino, and Oscar De La Renta. Despite many professional successes, the model has been mainly talked about in the context of her private life problems in recent years.

She achieved success but battled depression for years

Cara Delevingne took the fashion world by storm. She collaborated with some of the biggest designers and fashion houses. The portal Models.com ranked her fifth among the world's most popular models.

Modelling is just one of her passions. The Briton has been developing her acting career for over a decade. She has appeared in productions such as Carnival Row, Fever Heart, Anna Karenina, and Paper Towns.

Despite her many successes, life hasn’t spared her. In an interview with "Vogue", she admitted that she struggled with drug addiction, similar to her mother, Pandora.

"It shapes the childhood of every kid whose parent has an addiction. You grow up too quickly because you’re parenting your parents," she admitted.

At the age of 7, she started drinking alcohol.

"I went and got blackout afterwards. It was like, What am I doing? The day after, I had to travel to my granny’s funeral. It was horrible," she confessed.

Three years later, doctors prescribed her sleeping pills. That’s how her problem with psychoactive substances began, which she ultimately ended a few years ago.

"It doesn’t matter to me whether it's she, he, or they"

A difficult childhood influenced the future model. As a teenager, she suffered from depression. The fact that, as a growing girl, she realised she was also attracted to women did not help. In her home, homosexuality was not accepted.

In a conversation with Gwyneth Paltrow, she said that at that time, the idea of being in a relationship with a woman terrified her.

"The idea of being [with] same-sex [partners], I was disgusted by that, in myself. I was like, 'Oh, my God, I would never,'" she said.

She identifies as pansexual.

"However one defines themselves, whether it's 'they' or 'he' or 'she', I fall in love with the person – and that's that. I'm attracted to the person," she explained to "Variety".

The model has been involved with both women and men. She was official with the actress Ashley Benson and the singer St. Vincent, but the media also linked her with Halsey, Michelle Rodriguez, Miley Cyrus, Jake Bugg, and Harry Styles. Since 2022, she has been happy with the singer Minkie.
