The heat is taking its toll. During this period, it's worth remembering to cool down your body from the inside. Therefore, swap your ordinary dinner dish for a refreshing and quick cucumber cold soup. The recipe includes one unusual ingredient that enhances the flavour.

The whole of Britain is currently experiencing thirty-degree heat. On such days, it’s advisable not to raise the blinds to prevent rooms from heating up, and, of course, remember to stay hydrated (up to 7-9 pints per day). Wearing natural, breathable fabrics is also a sensible solution.

The best ways to survive the heat

Furthermore, you can find many tricks online for surviving the heat. One is placing a frozen bottle of water in front of a fan. This way, you can enjoy a cool breeze.

However, you must also remember to cool your body from the inside. The best method? Swap your usual dinner dish for a light cucumber cold soup. We have a recipe that no gourmet can resist.

Cucumber cold soup with feta – recipe

This cucumber cold soup owes its unique taste to the addition of feta cheese. Its salty flavour makes the whole dish more expressive. How to prepare this hit soup for hot weather?

Ingredients:

  • 3 large cucumbers
  • a spring onion
  • two cloves of garlic
  • ¼ package of feta cheese
  • 2 pints of buttermilk
  • a pinch of pepper

Preparation:

Wash the cucumbers, peel them, remove the seeds and cut them into small pieces. Peel and chop the onion and garlic. Put all these ingredients in a blender, pour in cold buttermilk, and blend until you achieve a smooth consistency. You can blend the feta with the rest, cut it into small pieces, and add it to the soup. Season to taste. You can garnish it with mint leaves or pistachios. The cold soup is ready to eat, although it’s best to give it an hour in the fridge to cool and let the ingredients "marry."
