Cora Schumacher opens up about feeling used after Ralf's revelation

Cora Schumacher, Ralf Schumacher's former wife, has broken her silence after her ex-husband revealed he is in a relationship with a man. She claims she feels used and wasted her best years discovering everything through social media.

Cora Schumacher, formerly married to Ralf Schumacher, a Formula 1 driver and brother of Michael Schumacher, has spoken publicly after her ex-husband came out as homosexual. Ralf Schumacher announced in July this year that he is in a relationship with his business manager, Etienne. The two made their relationship public via Instagram.

Cora was married to Schumacher for 14 years. The couple divorced in 2015. In an interview with the German magazine "Der Spiegel," she expressed her frustration, saying she "feels used" and believes she wasted her best years.

She also admitted that during her ex-husband's F1 career, there were many rumours about his orientation circulating in the paddock.

I asked him to clarify if what they were saying was true, but he always denied it, saying that I was exaggerating everything and that maybe I needed psychological help - recalls Cora.

The athlete's ex-wife does not hide that his coming out was like a punch to the heart.

Today, I feel used in the marriage. I feel like I wasted the best years. I ask myself many questions. Was he honest with me? And something even more important crosses my mind: Did he love me? I trusted him blindly - said the devastated Schumacher.

As she emphasised, coming out always affects the surroundings of the person who reveals themselves, including the ex-wife with whom one has a child. The result of Cora and Ralf's several years of relationship is their now-adult son, David. The young man reacted entirely differently to his father's coming out.

I am very happy that you finally found someone with whom you truly feel very good and safe, regardless of whether it is a man or a woman - he wrote on social media.

According to Carmen Geiss, an actress and close friend of the couple, Ralf Schumacher has been in a relationship with Etienne for two years. The two met in 2022 in Monaco.
