Euro 2024 prodigy: Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal praised by Verstappen

Recently, Lamine Yamal has been the talk of the world after his outstanding performance at Euro 2024. Even the Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen commented on him, complimenting him.

Lamine Yamal couldn't have dreamed of a better season. After breaking into the FC Barcelona squad, he earned a call-up to the Spanish national team for Euro 2024. He shone brightly throughout the tournament.

The 17-year-old player was in La Furia Roja's starting lineup and significantly contributed to their success. The Spanish team proved unstoppable during the competition in Germany and won the European Championship by defeating England in the grand final (2-1).

In an interview with the Spanish newspaper "Marca," Max Verstappen himself spoke about Yamal. The Formula 1 world champion recently dominated the sport and is also a Barcelona fan.

- Can Lamine be called the Max Verstappen of football? I don't like to make this kind of comparison. But playing at that age so well and with so much self-confidence is also something very special - said the Dutchman.

- Lamine is incredible. I mean, at that age, playing for your country’s national team and performing like he did at the Euros is something I really enjoyed watching - added the driver.

Verstappen is a three-time world champion, having recently won all his titles (2021-2023). He is currently on his way to another title, and only a catastrophe will prevent him from winning it.
