The latest poll conducted by Ipsos for Reuters clearly indicates that, after the debate, Kamala Harris has increased her lead over Donald Trump to 5 percentage points. Her support is 47%, while Trump holds 42%.

The previous Ipsos poll indicated a four-point lead for the Democratic candidate. Following the debate, most of those surveyed by Ipsos (52%) considered Kamala Harris to be the winner of Tuesday's showdown in Philadelphia, while only 24% said Donald Trump won. These results were consistent with other surveys conducted after the debate.

However, the Ipsos poll does not suggest that the clash of candidates would fundamentally impact the presidential race. In the latest nationwide survey, accounting for likely voters, Harris is gaining 47% of the votes and Trump 42%. This lead is greater than the margin of error (3 percentage points) but only by one percentage point compared to a similar survey from late August.

Other surveys published after the debate indicate a similar lack of significant changes. In a poll by the right-wing tabloid "New York Post," by Leger, Harris is leading Trump by three percentage points. However, her lead over Trump has decreased by one percentage point compared to the survey from August after the Democratic convention in Chicago.

Meanwhile, in a survey by another polling firm, SoCal, conducted on behalf of a Republican-affiliated centre, Harris increased her lead by 1 percentage point compared to the previous survey from August.
