Most American celebrities firmly support Joe Biden's candidacy in the upcoming election. However, Michael Douglas expresses considerable concerns regarding his potential next term. The actor is worried about the sitting President of the United States.

On 5 November, Americans will head to the polls to elect the President of the United States for the 60th time. You don't have to be a political expert to state that the incumbent, Joe Biden, and his predecessor, Donald Trump, clearly have the best chances among the six candidates. Increasingly, more voices in the media suggest selecting another Democratic representative.

According to as many as two-thirds of viewers of the June debate organised by CNN, Biden suffered a crushing defeat against his opponent. Commentators worldwide noted his lack of focus, his incomprehensible speech, and, above all, his awkward defence against accusations made by the former president. They pointed out that this unsuccessful television performance could significantly weaken the 81-year-old's position in the race for the White House.

Michael Douglas suggests change in the presidential candidate?

Donald Trump has never enjoyed strong support among the well-known and liked. With the unchanged lineup of candidates, Joe Biden will undoubtedly be able to count on their public support. Among his supporters is the legend of American cinema, Michael Douglas.

The actor, who is younger than the president by just two years, organised a fundraiser for the Democratic Party candidate's campaign a few weeks ago. Upon attending the Wednesday premiere of the documentary he produced, "America's Burning", he gave an interview in which he surprisingly suggested that advanced age does not favour holding such a responsible position.

I think he has done an incredible job. However, I am not worried about this week or the next, but let's say, next year. It is very difficult for me to imagine him in four and a half years, especially in times that are so combative and require someone who is truly eloquent - he said in an interview with a BBC journalist.

In this way, Michael Douglas endorsed the words of his younger colleague, George Clooney, who said outright, "we will not win in November with this president".
