Dishes made with potatoes are a staple of our cuisine. However, these vegetables are most often treated today as a side dish for dinner, and we have simply forgotten about many dishes based on them. An example? Potato patties. We have a delicious recipe for them.

Potato patties were once very well-known. Often, potatoes left over from dinner were used. Today, you can go back to it, but in a more modern version.

Meat patties? Not today

The first thing that comes to mind with patties? It's still meat, such as cutlets or ground meat patties. However, vegetarian versions are becoming increasingly popular, as they are very easy to prepare without adding meat. This doesn't mean reaching for unusual ingredients and vegan substitutes; just potatoes will suffice. When you serve potato patties with a delicious mushroom sauce, the dish will be complete and surely enjoyed by the whole family.

Are potatoes high in calories? No worries

Are you worried that potatoes are fattening? Potatoes are not as high in calories as we think. They have significantly fewer calories than grains and pasta. Early potatoes contain only 85 calories per 100 grams, and late potatoes 110 calories per 100 grams. They are also well-suited for diets because they are easily digestible and easily absorbed. They contain trace amounts of fat. They also have an alkaline-forming effect, which negates the acid-forming effect after eating meat.
