Russian casualties reach unprecedented levels in the Ukraine conflict

The average daily number of Russian casualties—both killed and injured—in the war against Ukraine was 1,262 in May and 1,163 in June. Approximately 70,000 Russian soldiers were killed and wounded over these two months, according to the British Ministry of Defence on Friday at 12:00.

The British Ministry of Defence released the latest report regarding the war in Ukraine.

In the latest intelligence update, it was noted that the average daily number of Russian casualties is the highest since the beginning of the invasion and explained that this increase is due to Russia opening a new frontline in the Kharkiv region while maintaining the same level of offensive operations on other parts of the front.

"Although this new approach has increased pressure on the frontline, effective Ukrainian defence and lack of Russian training reduce Russia's ability to exploit any tactical successes, despite attempts to put further pressure on the frontline.

The rate of Russian casualties is likely to continue exceeding 1,000 per day over the next two months, as Russia attempts to break Ukrainian positions with mass," the assessment stated.

In May and June alone, approximately 70,000 Russian soldiers were killed and wounded.
