Russians have lost an armoured vehicle worth over half a million dollars. The gem of the Russian defence industry, the MRAP "Spartak," was destroyed a few days ago by a Ukrainian drone in the Kharkiv region. This is one of the latest equipment losses for Russia in the war in Ukraine and the first instance of the "Spartak" being destroyed.

For over two and a half years, information about additional Russian military vehicles destroyed by Ukrainians has appeared in the media. As it turns out, besides Russia's logistical unpreparedness for the conflict, the war in Ukraine has also revealed many flaws in the equipment it uses.

A significant factor contributing to these losses is the sudden rise in the importance of unmanned drones, whose widespread use has only become prominent in Ukraine. The effects were not long in coming, as it is noticeable that the Russians were not prepared for such rapid and unexpected attacks from the sky.

Consequently, from almost the beginning of the war, we have been receiving information about further valuable machines destroyed by Ukrainians. As it turns out, converted and cheaply produced commercial drones are significantly better suited for this purpose than classic military drones, which have been reaping a massive toll in recent months.

Particularly painful for the Russians may be the latest war loss in the form of the most modern armoured vehicle, the MRAP "Spartak." Presented for the first time in 2019, the machine has already appeared several times on the Ukrainian front, but this is the first time its destruction has been recorded.

Prepared for the National Guard, the vehicle is one of the gems of Russia's defence industry. It offers several modifications, such as transporting personnel with the possibility of providing fire support or a cargo version designed to carry heavier ammunition and guns.

The most important aspect, however, is the cost of such a machine, which experts estimate at over half a million dollars. Thus, the destroyed MRAP "Spartak" joins the list of the most valuable targets eliminated by the Ukrainians. Among them so far are the equally modern T-90M tank (worth approximately 3.5 million pounds) and the Ladoga armoured vehicle (approximately 1.5 million pounds), designed to survive a nuclear war.
