Tinfoil balls in the washing machine? Yes, it's a simple trick that could become your favourite solution to the problem of static clothes. Although it may sound strange, this method has already gained recognition from many people. See how it works and how to do it exactly.

Tinfoil is primarily known for baking dishes, especially meats. However, its usefulness goes beyond the kitchen and can be helpful in other situations that might initially seem surprising. Here is a simple trick to solve the problem of static clothes.

This method involves putting a few balls of tinfoil into the drum of the washing machine before starting the wash cycle. It's best to use 2 to 4 balls about the size of a small fist. Don't worry – this method is safe for the washing machine and clothing.

This simple trick will help remove static from clothes. Tinfoil balls effectively replace fabric softener, working in the same way. It's an economical and effective solution.

Tinfoil not just for the kitchen

Few know tinfoil can also be used during ironing, making this often-disliked chore much more efficient.

How to do it: Wrap the ironing board with tinfoil and cover it with a cloth. The foil reflects heat, making the clothes smooth on both sides with one stroke of the iron.

Another trick is to put a tinfoil ball in the cutlery basket in the dishwasher. Although it may sound improbable, the reaction between the aluminium and the components in the dishwasher tablet makes the cutlery come out perfectly clean and shiny. This is a perfect example of how homemade methods are often the best.
