Natural hack: Use pepper to preserve vibrant colours in laundry

Natural ingredients boast many beneficial properties. Pepper, known mainly as a popular kitchen spice, can also surprise you with its usefulness when doing laundry.

Shop shelves are full of various detergents that make daily household chores easier. However, in recent years, interest in natural ingredients has been growing. This trend not only promotes environmental protection but also helps save money.

We can choose powders, liquids, capsules, or gels. Detergents specially designed for washing dark and light fabrics are also available.

If we care about more natural protection for our clothes, we can use... pepper.

Before starting the washing machine, add one teaspoon of ground black pepper to the drum. Pepper excellently absorbs excess detergent, which can cause fabric fading.

Thanks to this, clothes will retain their vibrant colour and restore the old shine of faded garments.

Set the wash with the pepper addition to a relatively low temperature. Run a short rinse cycle if any pepper residue remains in the drum after finishing the wash.
