Ukrainian forces reclaim strategic town of Nadiya in Luhansk
The Ukrainian armed forces have regained control over the town of Nadiya in the Luhansk region following a 30-hour military operation.

The Ukrainian 3rd Army Corps announced the success of the military operation that led to the liberation of the town of Nadiya in the Luhansk region.
"Nadiya in the Luhansk region is liberated! (...) The total area recovered from enemy hands is about 2.6 square kilometres" - stated a communication from the Ukrainian formation. The operation took 30 hours and was successful, despite the fact that the Russians had defended this area for two months, losing two mechanized regiments.
Why is Nadiya strategically important?
The town of Nadiya, located near the border with the Kharkiv region, was a key strategic point for Russian forces.
"The capture of (the town of) Nadiya, located near the border with the Kharkiv region, cost the enemy two months of efforts and two destroyed mechanized regiments - the 752nd and 254th from the 20th Army of the Armed Forces of Russia" - noted Colonel Andriy Biletsky, commander of the 3rd Corps. Recovering this town is a significant step toward restoring control over the entire Luhansk region.

Regaining Nadiya is not only a symbolic victory but also a strategic success that may affect the further course of the conflict. The Luhansk region was one of the last regions in Ukraine under full Russian control, aside from the annexed Crimea.
