Angelina Jolie's father calls for Brad Pitt to end family feud

Angelina Jolie has distanced herself from her father. However, the ideological differences between them do not affect Jon Voight's concern for his grandchildren. The man, who carefully watches the ongoing battle between the ex-spouses, appealed to Brad Pitt.

Despite spending almost 12 years together and raising six children, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt could not save their relationship. Their clearly outlined conflict seems to have no end. At the centre of the events are, of course, the children, allegedly incited by the actress, as evidenced by their adopted son Pax's bitter confessions about his father and the clearly signalled desire to change the last name by their daughter Shiloh, who became an adult a few months ago.

Moreover, the former spouses have not yet settled the issue of selling the extremely expensive French vineyard they jointly acquired in 2008. Jon Voight is observing their mutual accusations. The actress's father, who instilled in her a love for cinema many years ago, no longer participates in her life. However, he declares that, above all, he values the well-being and safety of his grandchildren.

The escalation of many years of disputes between Angelina Jolie and her father culminated in entirely different approaches to the war in Gaza, which has been going on for almost a year. The 49-year-old, involved in many social issues, clearly condemned Israel's actions, labelling them as an "act of terror." Influenced by these words, the legendary actor accused his only daughter of anti-Semitism, attempting to explain, according to his logic, that "Hamas and this deceit of their ruling is destroying their own people."

Unexpectedly, Jon Voight rose above different political views. However, being aware of his lack of influence on Jolie's stance, he decided to renew contact with his former son-in-law, who, in his opinion, shows more reason. He claims he does this solely out of concern for their children.

I think that the kids need some stability. I love the kids and I love my daughter, and I want Brad to step up, too (and do) what he has to do (and) end this nonsense - he said on Fox News.

The Oscar-winning 85-year-old also admitted that he would like to increase the frequency of meetings with his grandchildren. He said he does not talk to them "as much as [he'd] like."
