Nighttime missile attack on Lviv leaves seven dead, dozens injured

Seven people were killed, and thirty-eight were injured in a nighttime attack on Lviv. The Russians struck the city with missiles and drones. The centre was hit the hardest, where many buildings were destroyed. "The situation is dire. The rescue operation could take many more hours," said Lviv's mayor, Andriy Sadovyi.

"The situation is dire. The injured are constantly receiving help from doctors. It is unknown how the situation will develop further. Many buildings have been attacked; in total, there are seventy buildings in two areas of Lviv. People from six buildings will need to find new housing. All of these are historical monuments. This is a disaster," said Lviv's mayor, Andriy Sadovyi, in an interview with Radio Eska.

During the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, the Russians launched a missile attack on many areas of Ukraine. Lviv suffered the most, where at least seven people were killed, including three children, and thirty-eight were injured. "The rescue operation could take many more hours," emphasised Sadovyi.

The city leader emphasised that all services are working on-site. How many people might be under the rubble of damaged buildings is still unknown. Unfortunately, the tragic toll of victims may increase.

"Rescuers are working non-stop because some people might be in inaccessible places. I am right here, talking to residents. We are helping. This is barbarism, as they are killing civilians. There are no military targets here. All these buildings are residential," Sadovyi emotionally told Eska.
