AfD offers £43m reward to unravel Nord Stream pipeline sabotage mysteries

AfD politicians want to clarify the Nord Stream destruction issue as quickly as possible. They demand allocating £43 million as a reward for anyone who can determine who is behind the attacks on the gas pipelines.

The AfD parliamentary group submitted the proposal to the legal committee of the German Bundestag, reports the regional broadcaster NDR. Politicians from this faction demand that £43 million from the German budget be handed over to the General Prosecutor's Office.

According to AfD, this is to help Attorney General Jens Rommel offer an appropriate reward to anyone who can explain who was behind the sabotage of Nord Stream.

NDR reminds that only German authorities are currently investigating this matter among European countries. Denmark and Sweden closed their investigations at the beginning of 2024.

Nearly two years ago, on September 26, 2022, unknown perpetrators caused explosions in the area of the Nord Stream gas pipelines in the Baltic Sea. As a result, three out of the four Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 pipelines were destroyed. Traces of explosives were found near the leak sites.

So far, it has not been possible to determine who is responsible for the explosions, even though various leads have been investigated.

Some leads point to Ukraine, and an important role in preparing the sabotage was supposedly played by the yacht Andromeda, which had previously stopped over in Kołobrzeg. However, other information points to the possibility of a false flag operation to discredit Ukraine in front of Western governments and eventually lead to them stopping their aid to the country attacked by Russia.
